In a bid to strengthen local peace efforts and community coordination, a jirga was held in village Spalaga of Miranshah, North Waziristan, where the local unit commander met with tribal elders and influential figures of the area.

According to sources, the jirga focused on maintaining peace and stability in the region, with detailed discussions around the community’s role in promoting harmony and the need for strict legal action against Khawarij, and facilitators of Khawarij, a term used by the state for extremist elements.

The tribal elders welcomed the engagement and expressed their commitment to supporting state efforts against militancy. However, they urged security forces to ensure that civilians are not harmed during operations, requesting precision and caution in anti-terror campaigns.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between local communities and law enforcement in former conflict zones, fostering mutual trust and collective responsibility for long-term peace in North Waziristan.
