After suffering a string of major setbacks in North Waziristan; including the elimination of 15 terrorists from the Hafiz Gul Bahadur (HGB) group in Datta Khel’s Dwa Kamar area, and the killing of three Khawarij during a foiled attack on a security checkpost in Spinwam, terrorist elements faced yet another doomsday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak district, where 17 terrorists were neutralized in a high-intensity intelligence-based operation.

The overnight raid was jointly carried out by police and security forces in the Darsha Khel area under the jurisdiction of Shah Saleem police station. According to District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi, the operation was launched based on credible intelligence, and the slain militants are believed to have been affiliated with the Mullah Nazir group, a known faction of a proscribed outfit.

Three security personnel sustained minor injuries during the prolonged exchange of fire. Clearance operations are still ongoing, and authorities are working to confirm the identities and organisational ties of the deceased. Additional details will be released once the investigation concludes.

DPO Elahi stressed that such operations will continue relentlessly. “No one will be allowed to sabotage peace in the region,” he said. “Police and security forces are united in the fight against enemies of the state and public. There will be no safe haven for those who threaten the writ of the state.”
