The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has released a list of 1,351 most-wanted Khawarij, placing cash bounties on their heads worth over Rs 4.15 billion in total.
According to a statement issued by the Capital Police Office (CPO) Peshawar, the decision is part of an intensified crackdown against terrorist networks operating across the province. The CTD has confirmed that identity card data is available for 676 of the listed individuals, which will assist in tracking, identification, and eventual arrests.
District-wise data shows that Peshawar tops the list with 185 wanted militants whose bounties have been announced. North Waziristan follows with 129 names, while 117 terrorists have been listed from Bannu and 111 from Dera Ismail Khan. Other districts with notable figures include Khyber with 72, Kohat with 65, and Upper Dir, Lower Dir, and Lakki Marwat with 55 wanted individuals each.
Officials say the bounty system is aimed at encouraging public cooperation in the fight against terrorism by offering financial incentives for actionable information. Citizens have been urged to report any suspicious individuals or movements through official CTD helplines. The identity of informants, authorities have assured, will be kept strictly confidential.
The announcement marks one of the largest coordinated bounty efforts by the CTD in recent years, reflecting growing concerns over militant regrouping in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the adjoining tribal belt.
The CTD says it will continue to update the list as new intelligence emerges and has reiterated its commitment to eliminating terrorism through both intelligence-led operations and community engagement.
