In a successful covert operation by security forces in Balochistan, a terrorist affiliated with the banned group Fitna al-Hindustan (BLA) that has been designated by the United States as a foreign terrorist organisation (FTO) recently, was killed. According to sources, the terrorist was identified as Zahid Bhawani, a resident of Nazarabad, Tump.

The sources further revealed that the terrorist was involved in targeted killings of civilians and attacks on security forces in the Tump area.

The neutralisation of Zahid Bhawani marks another significant achievement in Balochistan’s ongoing battle against militant groups. This operation, in the Tump area, reflects the province’s strengthened security efforts, which have seen positive developments in recent months. The successful counter-terrorism actions, including high-profile arrests and targeted operations like the recent Operation Pehrud Cleanser, have been bolstered by increased cooperation with international partners, such as the UK.

The arrest of key figures linked to local terror cells, such as Dr. Usman Qazi and Mir Khan Muhammad, has exposed the deeply entrenched networks operating in Balochistan. These developments underscore the strategic importance of enhancing the province’s security forces, especially the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

As Balochistan intensifies its fight against terror, backed by stronger governance, border security, and intelligence-sharing, militants, like those from the BLA, are facing mounting pressure. The neutralisation of Bhawani is a clear signal that the tide is turning in Balochistan’s favour, thanks to the coordinated efforts of both local forces and international allies.
