Over 30 Khawarij Killed in Bajaur Mosque Blast Triggered by Their Own Explosives

More than 30 Khawarij were killed in Bajaur’s Charmang area when explosives they had concealed inside a mosque detonated prematurely, security sources confirmed on Thursday. The incident dealt a significant blow to the group, which had been using the place of worship as a hub for planning and executing acts of terrorism.

According to details, the Khawarij had stockpiled a large cache of explosive materials inside the mosque, where they were actively engaged in preparations for a major terror plot. However, the explosives went off suddenly, triggering a powerful blast that killed over 30 of them instantly. Several others were reported injured in the explosion, which reduced much of the structure to rubble.

Security officials disclosed that the group had long been exploiting the sanctity of the mosque to conceal weapons and explosives, attempting to shield their activities from detection. “The Khawarij brought this tragedy upon themselves by defiling a sacred place for violent designs,” an official said, adding that such actions reflect the group’s complete disregard for religion, humanity, and community life.

The local population strongly condemned the misuse of the mosque by the Khawarij, describing it as a grave desecration of a holy place. Elders and residents expressed relief at the elimination of the group, stressing that their removal would pave the way for greater peace and security in Bajaur.

“Their cruelty knew no bounds they desecrated mosques and spread fear. This incident is a sign that the Khawarij can never succeed in their agenda. We stand firmly with the security forces until peace is fully restored,” remarked a community elder.

Observers say the incident underscores the growing desperation and isolation of the Khawarij, who are increasingly losing sanctuaries due to sustained pressure from Pakistan’s security forces and local resistance against their presence. Analysts believe that the blast in Charmang represents not only a tactical setback for the network but also a symbolic blow to its ability to operate with impunity in the tribal districts.

Security forces, meanwhile, continue to maintain a vigilant presence across Bajaur to ensure that the remnants of the Khawarij network find no opportunity to regroup. Officials reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain resolute in their mission to eliminate the menace of the Khawarij and to uphold the safety, sanctity, and peace of the region.
