A coordinated Khawarij attack on a joint Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (FC) check post in the Sardi Khel area of Bannu district was successfully repelled by security forces late Friday night.

According to security sources, militants launched a two-pronged assault; from the north and south, targeting FC Daryoba Platoon 157, stationed alongside Army Unit 29 FF at the Sardi Khel post.

Troops from both the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps responded with immediate and courageous retaliation, engaging the attackers in a 20-minute exchange of fire.

The militants were forced to retreat failing to achieve their objectives.

“The attack was decisively foiled with no casualties reported,” officials confirmed, adding that all personnel remained safe.

In the aftermath of the incident, troop deployments in Sardi Khel, Mali Khel, and surrounding FC posts have been placed on high alert, and area surveillance has been intensified to prevent any further hostile activity.
