In yet another brazen attack, terrorists from the Fitna al-Khawarij, a term commonly used for the banned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) launched a quad-copter strike on the FC Takhti Khel-Baka Khel checkpoint in Bannu, injuring four security personnel.

According to security sources, the injured were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Police and security forces swiftly reached the site and launched an investigation. A cordon was established around the area, followed by a comprehensive search operation.

This latest strike comes after a similar attack on the same checkpoint just a few days ago, during which one security personnel was martyred and three others were wounded. On the very same day, another quad-copter attack in Takhti Khel Baka Khel left two women and a child injured.

It is becoming increasingly clear that such drone-style assaults have become a recurring tactic of the militants in Bannu. The Miryan Police Station, in particular, has been repeatedly targeted by these quad-copter attacks, highlighting growing concerns about the effectiveness of current countermeasures.

On August 8, Khawarij used a quad-copter to target innocent children, but this time in the village of Tappi, Miran Shah Tehsil of North waziristan. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 8-year-old Aafia, daughter of Muhammad Noor, after an explosive device concealed inside a soft drink bottle was dropped directly onto her.

Investigations have revealed that the device was a locally made bomb, marked clearly with the initials “TTP,” pointing directly to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. Security officials stated that if the bomb had detonated with full force, it could have claimed the lives of at least 8 to 9 children. The attack appears to be a deliberate attempt to terrorise the local population and target the most vulnerable.

“This wasn’t just an attack on one child, it was a calculated act of fear, aimed at silencing and traumatising an entire village,” said a local elder during an emergency jirga convened immediately after the incident.

Strong evidence collected from the scene bore clear signs linking the act to the TTP, further exposing the group’s brutal intentions and disregard for innocent lives.
