A foreign member of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), affiliated with commander Tahir alias Abu Zar of the Imarati group, was killed and two others injured when security forces engaged them between Malik Din Khel New Bagh and Salar Chowk in Tirah valley, district Khyber official sources said.
According to intelligence reports, the slain Khawarij’s identity could not be immediately established. The injured were identified as Tahseenullah, belonging to the Zakha Khel tribe and a resident of Darbar, and Bahadur Khan, from the Malik Din Khel tribe and a resident of New Bagh.
Sources further disclosed that the dead and wounded were moved via Zangi Kallay to the Adam Khel area for treatment at the hujra of commander Kareem. Security forces have intensified monitoring and operational measures in the area. Further details were awaited.
