A suspicious drone flying over Bannu Police Lines was successfully neutralized by police on Thursday, marking the second such incident targeting the high-security facility in recent months, part of a troubling pattern of aerial threats in the region.

According to police sources, the drone was spotted in time, prompting a swift response from security personnel. Officers opened fire and deployed modern anti-drone technology to jam its signal, bringing the drone down before it could cause any damage.

“The force acted with professional efficiency and vigilance, averting a possible attack,” said a senior police official, adding that no casualties or damage were reported.

Security teams are currently searching for the wreckage of the drone, while a detailed investigation has been launched to determine the nature of the threat and its origin.

This marks the second drone-related threat to Bannu Police Lines, and comes amid a wave of similar incidents in the district, especially at Miryan Police Station, which has reportedly faced eight to nine drone-based attacks in recent past, including those launched via quad-copters.

Police remain on high alert as authorities assess the evolving threat landscape and explore ways to enhance airspace security around key installations.
