A fierce gunbattle erupted in the Dazha Ghundai area between local tribal leader Malik Ashiq Noor’s clan and the terrorists of Fitna al-Khawarij, leaving one of Noor’s brothers, Zahid Noor, dead and another, Mullah Noor, critically injured.
The violent confrontation also left two women wounded, who were swiftly shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana for medical treatment. Reports suggest that Khawarij also suffered heavy casualties, with one known khariji commander killed on the spot. Conflicting accounts indicate that multiple terrorists may have died during the exchange of fire.
The incident has sparked panic across the region, with gunfire echoing through the surrounding areas for hours. Malik Ashiq Noor belongs to the Zali Khel sub-clan of the Ahmadzai Wazir tribe.
This is not the first tragedy for the Noor family. Two of Malik Ashiq Noor’s brothers, Presidential Award recipient Malik Aslam Noor and Malik Khadeen, were also previously assassinated in similar acts of violence.
