Khawarij Eliminated in Miryan: Joint Forces Crush Threat, Restore Peace in Bannu

In a major breakthrough against violent extremism, security forces and police successfully concluded a joint search and strike operation in the Miryan area of Bannu, eliminating key elements of the Khawarij and restoring complete normalcy in the region. According to official police sources, six Khawarij operatives were killed during the operation, three were captured in injured condition, while 25 suspected individuals were taken into custody for further investigation.

In a significant tactical achievement, the forces also demolished a fortified bunker belonging to Qari Niaz, a notorious commander of a proscribed Khawarij group, in the Norar area. The hideout was destroyed using high-grade explosives, delivering a decisive blow to the operational infrastructure of the network.

With the successful completion of the operation, the curfew imposed in the area was lifted and all routes were reopened, allowing daily life to return to normal.

In a desperate act of retaliation, Khawarij elements launched two drone attacks targeting the Miryan Police Station. Explosive-laden quadcopters dropped munitions on the premises, injuring seven personnel from the Pakistan Army, Police, and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bannu, Sajjad Khan, who personally supervised the operation, lauded the courage and coordination displayed by all participating forces. “The Khawarij’s cowardly ambitions have once again been shattered by our forces. We will continue our operations relentlessly until the last remnant of this menace is eradicated,” he declared.

This successful operation stands as a firm testament to the unyielding resolve of Pakistan’s security and law enforcement agencies in safeguarding the nation from the scourge of extremism.
