Field Marshal Asim Munir Vows to Defeat Terror Proxies, Accelerate Balochistan’s Uplift for National Unity

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan Army’s unyielding resolve to eliminate terrorism and ensure the socio-economic transformation of Balochistan, terming both imperatives for national cohesion, stability, and long-term prosperity. He was speaking during an interactive session with participants of the 16th National Workshop Balochistan at the GHQ in Rawalpindi. The gathering comprised parliamentarians, civil society members, civil servants, academicians, journalists, and youth leaders from across the province.

Addressing the diverse audience, Field Marshal Asim Munir categorically condemned India’s “blatant and continued sponsorship of terror proxies,” branding it a failed ploy to undermine the unwavering patriotism of the people of Balochistan. “Having faced humiliation in Ma’arka-e-Haq, India has now intensified its proxy war against Pakistan through Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan, both instruments of its hybrid agenda,” the COAS stated. “These proxies will face the same disgraceful defeat, Insha Allah.”

He emphasised that terrorists transcend all boundaries of religion, sect, and ethnicity, thereby demanding a unified national response. “The fight against terrorism cannot be won in isolation. Only a collective and cohesive resolve can secure Pakistan’s peace and future,” he remarked.

Highlighting the strategic significance of Balochistan, the Army Chief underscored the urgency of inter-agency synergy and a whole-of-nation approach to drive inclusive development in the province. He said that sustainable progress in Balochistan is essential not only for provincial uplift but also for the strength and stability of the federation.

Reiterating Pakistan’s desire for peace in the region, Field Marshal Asim Munir made it clear that the armed forces are fully prepared to defend the country against any internal or external threat. “The prestige of Pakistan and the security of our people will be protected at all costs,” he asserted.

The session concluded with an open dialogue in which participants engaged directly with the Army Chief, sharing their views and suggestions. The COAS listened attentively and responded with candour, reaffirming the Army’s commitment to national unity, security, and the development of Balochistan as a cornerstone of a stronger Pakistan.
