In the wake of a tragic shooting incident during a peaceful protest in Bagh Maidan, Tirah Valley, a high-level jirga was held to address the growing tension in the region. The attack, allegedly carried out by militants, left three dead and nine injured.
The jirga was attended by Commandant FC, KP (North), civil and military officials, and local tribal elders. According to sources, the gathering extensively discussed the incident, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries sustained.
Officials assured the victims’ families of full support, promising justice, transparent investigations, and immediate relief efforts. Emphasis was placed on bringing the perpetrators to justice and restoring peace in the region.
Discussions also focused on sustainable peace-building, rebuilding trust between locals and security forces, and implementing concrete measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to public safety and called for joint efforts from all stakeholders to ensure long-term stability in the valley.
