In a bold and preemptive operation, Lakki Marwat police successfully repelled a planned ambush by Khawarij on the Gambila Police Station late Friday night, forcing the militants to flee and reaffirming the force’s unwavering resolve against subversive threats. According to police officials, a group of 10 to 11 Khawarij operatives attempted a covert attack under the cover of darkness. The attackers were preparing to take tactical positions near the station when vigilant officers already maintaining strict surveillance in the surrounding areas—intercepted their movements and launched a swift retaliatory operation.
The police opened precise and immediate fire, preventing the Khawarij from entrenching themselves. Caught off guard, the attackers were forced into a hasty retreat. No injuries or casualties were reported among the police personnel, all of whom remained fully secure due to the force’s heightened state of alert.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, hailed the Lakki Marwat police for their professionalism and exemplary readiness. “The gallantry displayed by our force is a message to all enemies of the state: the Khawarij will find no space to operate,” he stated.
Regional Police Officer Bannu, Sajjad Khan, also commended the officers of Gambila Police Station, praising their discipline, swift coordination, and fearless commitment to duty.
The foiled assault marks yet another failed bid by the Khawarij to destabilize the region, highlighting once again that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police stand as an unbreakable frontline against the forces of chaos and extremism.
