Pakistan Will Do Whatever It Takes to Crush Terrorism, Says Deputy PM Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has delivered a hard-hitting message on national security, declaring that Pakistan will take all necessary measures without hesitation to eradicate terrorism and protect its sovereignty. He admitted that past leniencies had emboldened militant groups, but vowed that the state is now fully mobilized to dismantle them.

“We opened the prison doors for terrorists this must be acknowledged. And yes, the terrorists have reorganized. But let me be clear: we are determined to eliminate terrorism from its roots, and we will do whatever it takes,” Dar said in a bold and forthright statement.

Turning to regional tensions, Dar recounted Pakistan’s response to the 2019 Pulwama incident, criticizing India for refusing to engage. “When Pulwama happened, we offered an open and transparent investigation because we had nothing to hide. But that offer was never answered,” he said. “India pushed a false narrative, claiming Pakistan was diplomatically isolated. In reality, between April 22 and the night of May 6, we held direct communications with the capitals of 29 countries, clearly stating that Pakistan was not involved and India was distorting the facts.”

The Deputy Prime Minister also disclosed details of Pakistan’s military preparedness during a critical escalation. “On the night of May 6, India sent 75 to 80 jets. We were ready. The directive was clear—do not fire unless Indian aircraft violated our airspace. But if they attacked from across the border, we were to respond with full force. As a result, we shot down six Indian aircraft four Rafales, one SU-30, one MiG, and even an unmanned drone.”

On Pakistan’s growing international stature, Dar noted a major diplomatic victory. “There are five permanent members in the UN Security Council. The last time, we were elected with just a one-vote lead. This time, we won with a majority of 170 votes,” he said. “Despite sanctions and economic challenges, our engagement with global institutions has created a protective shield for our national security.”

He further announced that Pakistan has taken over the presidency of the UN Security Council, calling it a powerful endorsement of the country’s credibility and relevance on the world stage.

“From confronting terrorism head-on to commanding respect in the international arena, Pakistan is no longer on the defensive—we are leading from the front,” Dar concluded.
