In a brazen act of sabotage, Khawarij once again targeted Pakistan’s critical energy infrastructure by blowing up the main transmission pipeline carrying gas from the Bettani Gas Field to Punjab—marking the second such attack at the same location within a week. According to official sources, the pipeline was detonated with a powerful explosive device near Torwah Wanda Amir, causing a loud blast that led to an uncontrolled gas leak in the area. The attack is the latest in a series of systematic attempts by Khawarij to undermine national security and disrupt essential public services.
Following the explosion, contingents of security forces were immediately dispatched to the site to cordon off the area and launch a search operation. Technical teams have also been mobilised to assess the extent of the damage and begin emergency repairs to restore the disrupted gas supply.
Security officials confirmed that the same section of the pipeline was targeted just a week earlier in a similar attack—underscoring the persistent threat posed by these extremist elements, who continue to endanger civilian lives and economic stability through calculated acts of terror.
Authorities have strongly condemned the repeated attacks, vowing to intensify intelligence-based operations to dismantle the Khawarij networks operating in the region. The government reiterated its resolve that such acts of cowardice will not deter the state from pursuing and eliminating all threats to Pakistan’s peace and stability.
