Tension gripped Paharkhel Pakka village in Lakki Marwat district late Monday after a sudden exchange of fire between a group of Khawarij and local residents near the Manan Mosque, local sources confirmed. According to eyewitness accounts, a small group of Khawarij entered the village when they came under unannounced gunfire from local people. The firefight reportedly lasted for nearly an hour, following which a larger number of Khawarij entered the area, sparking fear and unrest among the villagers. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported during the incident.
In the aftermath, fear and uncertainty spread rapidly across the village. The absence of mobile network coverage in the area significantly hampered access to real-time information, leaving many residents unaware of the developing situation.
Despite growing public anxiety, no official statement has yet been issued by the local administration. The silence has further fuelled concern among the population, who are demanding urgent intervention to restore a sense of safety and order in the region.
