Lakki Marwat: An IED blast followed by gunfire targeted a security forces’ convoy near Wanda Painda Khan on the Lakki-Daratang Road Monday afternoon, leaving six soldiers injured, according to official sources.
The attack occurred when the convoy was travelling from Dera Ismail Khan toward Lakki Marwat. After the initial explosion, unidentified gunmen, reportedly khawarij, opened fire on the vehicles.
Emergency teams responded quickly, with the injured evacuated to Lakki City Hospital and the District Headquarters Hospital. Security forces also launched a search operation in the surrounding area to track down the perpetrators.
No terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, and investigations are underway. The incident comes amid ongoing security challenges in the region.
