Security forces have killed a high-value BLA terrorist, Umar Mari alias Dukashi, in an intelligence-based operation in the Sang area of Harnai. Umar Mari was a key commander of the banned Baloch Liberation Army’s notorious Majeed Brigade and was wanted for multiple acts of terrorism across Balochistan.
According to security officials, Umar Mari was responsible for a series of violent attacks, including the arson of coal-loaded trucks and assaults on security personnel. One of the most brazen attacks linked to him occurred in November 2024, when armed terrorists opened fire on coal transport vehicles in Ziarat District, torching three trucks. The assailants also targeted the convoy of Harnai’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), injuring his security guard.
Officials describe Mari’s death as a major blow to the BLA’s operational capability in the region, especially in disrupting the group’s extortion network tied to Balochistan’s coal trade.
The operation underscores Pakistan’s continued efforts to dismantle terrorist infrastructure through precise, intelligence-driven strikes.
