Security forces effectively repelled a suspected infiltration attempt by Khawarij in the Dwa Kholey area of Tirah Valley, Khyber district, eliminating one and injuring two others in a swift and precise response, security sources confirmed on Thursday. According to reports, a group of 5 to 6 unidentified Khawarij was observed maneuvering in the strategically sensitive Dwa Kholey region. Troops of the 211 Wing, stationed at the BMK post, detected the movement and immediately engaged the hostile elements with accurate fire.
The engagement resulted in the killing of one Khawarij and injuries to at least two others. Security forces successfully recovered the body of the slain Khawarij from the scene, while the injured reportedly fled into nearby forested terrain. A search and clearance operation was launched in the surrounding areas to trace the fleeing elements and secure the region. Officials stated that the swift action by the troops prevented a possible threat to peace and stability in the area.
“The resolve of the security forces remains unwavering no sanctuary will be spared, and every trace of the Khawarij menace will be uprooted,” a senior official remarked following the operation. This latest action is part of ongoing counter-Khawarij operations aimed at restoring lasting peace and stability to the tribal belt, where remnants of banned outfits continue to pose a security challenge.
