Security forces have dealt a significant blow to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur militant network by capturing Noor Al-Amin, a senior commander who was covertly orchestrating terrorist attacks and facilitating insurgent operations across South Waziristan. The high-profile arrest took place during a precise intelligence-led raid in the Karikot area near Wana.
Noor Al-Amin, son of Khabibullah, was a trusted lieutenant of Gul Zada alias Zandan, the local commander of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group—a banned organization involved in sustained militancy in the tribal districts. Known for his operational expertise, No Al-Amin played a central role in planning attacks against security forces, managing logistics, and coordinating cross-border militant movements.
Security officials revealed that his capture disrupts the leadership and operational capabilities of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, which has long exploited the rugged terrain of South Waziristan to maintain its insurgent activities. Intelligence gathered from this arrest is expected to expose hidden militant cells, supply routes, and safe houses.
“This commander was a key architect behind multiple terrorist acts in the region,” said a senior security official. “His arrest will significantly weaken the group’s grip on South Waziristan and aid in dismantling their network.”
The operation forms part of an intensified campaign by security forces to eliminate militant sanctuaries and restore lasting peace to the tribal belt. Recent efforts have seen the destruction of several militant hideouts, forcing insurgents into civilian areas where they are increasingly vulnerable to capture.
The state remains committed to neutralizing all elements of terrorism, ensuring that no safe haven remains for outlawed groups such as Hafiz Gul Bahadur’s network.
