In Istanbul, United Front Against Indian Aggression: PM Shehbaz Thanks Türkiye for Unwavering Support

Istanbul – In a significant diplomatic development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul, reaffirming the historic, strategic, and deeply-rooted brotherhood between Pakistan and Türkiye.

The meeting took place in what officials described as a “warm and highly cordial environment,” symbolizing the enduring partnership between the two Muslim nations.

During the high-level exchange, PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s deep gratitude to the government and people of Türkiye for standing firmly with Pakistan during the recent regional crisis in South Asia—an indirect reference to heightened tensions with India.

“At a time when global powers chose silence, Türkiye stood by justice, by Pakistan,” Sharif said.

Sharif lauded Türkiye’s consistent diplomatic, moral, and strategic support, particularly during recent provocations by India, calling the alliance a bulwark against regional hegemony.

“The bond between our nations is not just of diplomacy—it is of shared history, values, and unwavering loyalty,” he added.

Both leaders reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation across sectors including defense, trade, energy, and cultural exchange, aiming to elevate the Pakistan-Türkiye relationship to new heights.

The Prime Minister’s message was clear: Pakistan is not isolated, and India’s actions will not go unchallenged on the international stage. With Türkiye’s vocal backing, Islamabad has gained a crucial geopolitical ally in countering regional threats.
