Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the recent attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, calling it an “unbearable tragedy” and warning India-backed proxies to draw lessons from the response they’ve already received.
Speaking on the floor of the Senate, Dar labelled the attack, which targeted innocent children, as a grave and intolerable act. “What happened in Khuzdar is absolutely unacceptable. We condemn it in the strongest terms. The government is taking this matter very seriously,” he stated.
Dar issued a clear warning to India-backed elements operating in the region, saying, “The proxies should back off, and India must learn from the lesson it has already been taught.”
Highlighting the broader regional implications, the Foreign Minister emphasized the need for a united front. “We must come together, both government and opposition, to shape a clear strategy for the future. The sentiments expressed across the Senate reflect a shared resolve, which I fully endorse,” he said.
He further noted that the menace of terrorism must be eradicated not only from Pakistan but from the entire region. “We are paying the price for allowing certain groups to return. There is no room for such elements anymore. Eliminating this ”fitna” is essential for regional stability.”
Dar proposed forming a high-level committee to formulate a comprehensive future strategy and acknowledged that parts of the National Action Plan still remain unimplemented. “We let in 35,000 to 40,000 individuals without adequate vetting, and now we are facing the consequences. The time has come to completely dismantle this threat,” he concluded.
The statement comes amid rising tensions following a series of terror attacks targeting civilians, with growing calls from both public and political circles for swift and decisive action.
