In a significant diplomatic engagement, the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan convened an informal trilateral meeting in Beijing, reaffirming their shared commitment to deepening regional cooperation, enhancing economic connectivity, and advancing collective security.
The three sides highlighted the strategic importance of extending the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into Afghanistan, viewing it as a vital step toward regional integration and sustainable development. Emphasis was also laid on strengthening collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) to unlock Afghanistan’s economic potential and foster long-term prosperity across the region.
According to the spokesperson of Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the ministers agreed on intensifying trilateral diplomatic engagement and taking concrete measures to boost trade, connectivity, and development initiatives. The meeting marked a unified resolve to translate political will into actionable outcomes through joint efforts.
The Foreign Ministers also reiterated their unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, underscoring the importance of a stable and peaceful region for the success of economic cooperation.
The spokesperson added that the sixth round of the Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue will be held soon in Kabul, where further breakthroughs are anticipated in advancing the shared goals of peace, stability, and economic integration.
