In a brazen act of militancy, Khawarij abducted Imran Wazir, the Deputy Director of Agriculture department, South Waziristan, from the Agriculture Colony in Wazirabad, Tank District, late Friday night.
According to credible sources, Imran Wazir had gone to a nearby mosque for Isha prayers when armed terrorists intercepted him and abducted him at gunpoint. The incident occurred shortly after 9 PM, sending shock-waves through the local community.
Eyewitnesses reported that the khawarij had their faces covered and were carrying modern automatic weapons. They overpowered the official and forcibly took him away in a vehicle, disappearing into the night.

The incident has triggered a wave of fear and panic in the area, with residents expressing concern over the deteriorating security situation and growing impunity of militant groups operating in the region.
Imran Wazir is known in the region as an honest and dedicated public servant, widely respected for his work in the Agriculture Department. His sudden abduction has left colleagues and community members deeply distressed.
As of now, no group has officially claimed responsibility for the abduction. Security agencies have launched an investigation, and search operations are reportedly underway to trace the whereabouts of the kidnapped officer.
Local leaders and civil society have urged the government to act swiftly and ensure the safe and immediate recovery of Imran Wazir, while also calling for increased protection for civil servants working in vulnerable areas like Tank, and South Waziristan, etc.
