A large number of women from various walks of life staged a peaceful protest in Karachi on Sunday to denounce the terrorist activities of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and express solidarity with the people of Balochistan.
The protest, which began at Mazar-e-Quaid and concluded at the Karachi Press Club, was attended by students, religious scholars, doctors, lawyers, and professionals from various fields. The participants condemned the brutal actions of the BLA and the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, describing them as part of a foreign-backed conspiracy to destabilize Balochistan and spread ethnic hatred across provinces.
“Karachi is a multi-ethnic city where people from all provinces live and work together in harmony,” the protesters said, adding that a significant number of Baloch citizens reside in the city, earning livelihoods through respectable means such as jobs and businesses.
They accused the BLA and Baloch Yakjehti Committee of targeting individuals in Balochistan based on their national identity cards as part of a nefarious plan to sow hatred and provoke ethnic division. However, these attempts have failed, the participants asserted, as people across Pakistan stand united with the Baloch population against terrorism.
“The Baloch are a brave, honorable, and patriotic nation,” the demonstrators declared. “In contrast, these terrorists have neither a religion nor an ethnicity—they are unworthy even of being called animals.” They further stated that anti-state elements were unable to tolerate the ongoing development in Balochistan.
The protesters also alleged that Mah Rang Baloch is playing a key role in this conspiracy by using innocent Baloch women as human shields to achieve her malicious objectives. They claimed she exploits the issue of missing persons to indoctrinate youth and send them to terrorist training camps, from where several individuals have managed to escape and later appeared in the media.
According to the participants, many terrorists killed in encounters with security forces were later falsely identified as missing persons. They concluded that the BLA and Mah Rang Baloch have been tasked with halting Balochistan’s progress.
Carrying placards inscribed with messages such as “The hearts of all provinces beat with Balochistan” and “The entire nation stands with Balochistan and our security forces against terrorism,” the women reaffirmed their support for national unity and the fight against terrorism.
