Security forces and local police have detained two suspected foreign nationals during a coordinated operation in Orakzai District, with initial reports suggesting possible links to the militant group Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP).
According to police sources, the suspects were taken into custody from the Ghaljo Bazaar area after authorities intercepted them over suspicious movement. Preliminary information indicates that the two individuals had entered Orakzai on foot from the Alisherzai area of Central Kurram.
Officials identified the detainees as Ghor, son of Kazim, and Muhammad Younis, son of Muhammad, both reportedly citizens of Azerbaijan. They were immediately shifted to a nearby police station, where further interrogation is underway.
Sources said early questioning has revealed indications of possible links to ISKP, although authorities stressed that final confirmation is pending and investigations are continuing from multiple angles.
Security agencies have heightened surveillance across the area, tightening monitoring measures and expanding operations to trace any potential facilitators who may have assisted the suspects.
