The ongoing security campaign Operation Ghazb lil Haq has resulted in significant losses for Afghan Taliban forces, according to the latest operational update released at 1600 hours on March 8. Security officials report that the operation, carried out in response to persistent security threats along the border region, has targeted militant infrastructure and operational positions across multiple locations.
According to preliminary operational assessments, the campaign has inflicted heavy casualties on Afghan Taliban fighters. Current estimates indicate that 583 militants have been killed, while more than 795 others have sustained injuries during engagements associated with the operation. These figures reflect the scale and intensity of the ongoing effort to neutralize militant networks believed to be involved in cross-border security threats.
The operation has also resulted in extensive damage to militant infrastructure. Reports indicate that 242 Taliban check posts have been destroyed, significantly weakening the group’s forward defensive network in key areas. In addition, 38 other check posts were captured during the course of the operation and subsequently demolished, preventing their reuse for hostile activities.
Military equipment losses have also been substantial. Security sources state that 213 pieces of military hardware, including tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery guns, have been destroyed during the course of the campaign. Analysts note that such losses are likely to significantly reduce the operational mobility and firepower available to Taliban forces in affected areas.
Air power has played a central role in the operation. According to officials, air strikes have effectively targeted 64 locations across Afghanistan, focusing on sites believed to contain militant infrastructure, staging areas, weapons storage facilities, and logistical support points. The strikes were reportedly conducted with the objective of disrupting command structures and dismantling networks that facilitate militant activity.
Security authorities describe Operation Ghazb lil Haq as a strategic effort aimed at degrading militant capabilities, preventing cross-border infiltration, and reinforcing stability along sensitive border regions. Officials emphasize that the operation specifically targets militant infrastructure and operational networks that pose threats to regional security.
Operational monitoring and damage assessments remain ongoing, and authorities note that additional information may emerge as intelligence analysis continues. Security officials have indicated that further updates will be issued as the situation develops and more verified details become available.
