US Vice President JD Vance has described the Taliban as “one of the world’s worst terrorist groups” while criticizing the withdrawal from Afghanistan. He stated that the United States left military equipment worth $80 billion in the hands of the Taliban.
Vance also termed the deaths of 13 US soldiers at Kabul Airport a “catastrophic mistake.” Meanwhile, the Taliban maintain that the abandoned US military equipment now belongs to them and that they have no intention of returning it.
The Biden administration estimates the value of the abandoned equipment at $7 billion, whereas the Trump administration claims the figure stands at $80 billion.
