U.S. Senior Bureau Official Eric Meyer to Lead Delegation to Pakistan for Strategic Discussions on Minerals Investment and Counterterrorism Cooperation
Eric Meyer, Senior Bureau Official (SBO) for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, will lead an interagency U.S. delegation to Islamabad from April 8-10, 2025, to advance U.S. interests in the critical minerals sector at the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum. The visit aims to expand opportunities for American businesses in Pakistan while strengthening the economic ties between the two nations.
During his visit, SBO Meyer is scheduled to meet with senior Pakistani officials to explore avenues for increasing American investment in Pakistan’s mining and minerals sector. In addition to economic discussions, Meyer will also engage with senior officials on the importance of continued collaboration in counterterrorism efforts, emphasizing the critical role this partnership plays in regional stability and security.
