Security forces engaged in intense crossfire with militants in the village of Rodri, Kulachi tehsil, Dera Ismail Khan district, on Friday. According to local sources, two militants were neutralized during the encounter, while several others sustained injuries and reportedly retreated with the assistance of accomplices.

Authorities confirmed that combined police and paramilitary units conducted a swift search and clearance operation in the area, aiming to prevent the militants from regrouping or launching further attacks. The operation, which remains ongoing, has established control over key access points surrounding the village.

Security officials emphasized that the engagement underscores ongoing efforts to dismantle militant networks operating in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region that has previously witnessed insurgent activity, including drone-assisted and cross-border attacks.

No casualties among security forces or civilians have been reported during the encounter. The administration has advised local residents to exercise caution and avoid the area until the operation concludes fully.

Officials also reported the recovery of small arms and ammunition from the site, believed to have been in possession of the militants. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to neutralize threats and maintain stability in DI Khan and neighboring districts.
