Two Soldiers Martyred, Five Injured in Khawarij Attack on Security Post in Bajaur

In a tragic incident, two Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom and five others sustained injuries during a fierce exchange of fire with Khawarij militants who launched a coordinated assault on the Gawti security post in Loe Mamund tehsil of Bajaur district. According to security sources, the attack took place when Khawarij operatives targeted the post. Pakistani troops responded with extraordinary courage and tactical resistance, engaging the attackers in a heavy gun battle that lasted approximately 30 minutes.

During the exchange, Naib Subedar Gul Marjan Afridi and Lance Naik Ghafardin Gandapur embraced martyrdom while defending the post with exceptional bravery. The wounded personnel include Sepoy Ikram Marwat, Saad, and Kaleem Marwat, all of whom were immediately evacuated for medical treatment.

Security officials praised the quick and disciplined response of the troops, which prevented further damage and likely repelled the attackers from advancing further into the area. A search and clearance operation has been launched to track down the perpetrators in the adjoining regions.

The sacrifices of Pakistan Army personnel in the fight against Khawarij are a testament to the nation’s unwavering resolve to eliminate extremism and restore lasting peace in the tribal districts.
