Two Pakistan Army personnel, including a Major-ranked officer, were martyred and eight others injured in two separate terrorist attacks in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Wednesday.

According to security sources, the first incident occurred in the Kaboo Splinji area, where militants ambushed a military convoy. Major Zahid was martyred in the attack, while five other personnel sustained injuries.

In a second incident near the Gul Jan Levies post, a security forces’ vehicle was targeted using a roadside improvised explosive device (IED). The blast resulted in the martyrdom of Havaldar Adil and injuries to three other soldiers.

Both attacks are suspected to be the work of Baloch separatist or extremist groups active in the region. The injured have been shifted to a military hospital, and a search operation is underway to trace the attackers.

These incidents highlight the persistent threat of militancy in Balochistan, where security forces remain engaged in ongoing operations to neutralise terrorist networks.
