Two police officers were killed and three others injured in a suicide bombing targeting a police patrol vehicle on Ring Road in Peshawar on Saturday, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred in the Chamkani area, near the city’s livestock market, when a suicide bomber detonated explosives next to a police mobile unit. The deceased have been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Laiq Zada and Constable Alamzeb.

The injured — Inamullah, Mehtab Khan, and the vehicle’s driver — were taken to a nearby hospital. One of the officers remains in critical condition, according to hospital sources.

Police and bomb disposal teams secured the scene shortly after the blast, launching an investigation into the attack. No group has claimed responsibility so far.

Security officials described the bombing as a deliberate strike on law enforcement personnel, part of a broader pattern of violence in the region targeting police and security forces.
