In a successful intelligence-driven operation, Lakki Marwat police foiled a major terrorist attempt, eliminating two heavily armed militants and seizing sophisticated foreign-made weapons, according to official sources.
The terrorists had attempted to target the Shah Tor checkpost; however, swift and precise action by police personnel, based on credible intelligence, thwarted the planned assault. During the encounter, both militants were neutralised on the spot. Security forces recovered a state-of-the-art M4 assault rifle of foreign origin and a 9mm pistol from their possession, suggesting external support and high-level planning behind the foiled attack.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, commended the Lakki Marwat police for their exemplary professionalism, courage, and operational readiness. “This operation reflects the unwavering resolve and exceptional competence of our force,” he remarked, while announcing cash rewards and commendation certificates for the personnel involved.
The IGP reiterated the commitment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police to continue its relentless campaign against terrorism, vowing that such cowardly attempts would be decisively crushed. “Our morale is unshaken. The war against terrorism will persist until every threat is eliminated,” he said.
