Two khawarij were killed on Tuesday during an intense exchange of fire between security forces and armed insurgents in the Hassan Khel area on the outskirts of Peshawar.
According to security sources, the clash occurred during an intelligence-based operation launched early in the morning. As forces moved in, khawarij, as formally declared by the state, opened fire. Security personnel swiftly returned fire, neutralising two of the attackers.
Following the encounter, a search operation was initiated to locate and dismantle remaining terrorist hideouts in the area. The situation is reported to be under control, with continued surveillance underway.
