Two Highly Wanted Terrorists Killed in CTD’s Lakki Marwat Operation

Security forces killed two highly wanted terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat on [today’s date], officials said. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Bannu Region’s SWAT teams, working in coordination with Lakki Marwat Police, carried out the targeted raid in Sarai Naurang after receiving credible reports of the militants’ presence in the area.

According to CTD officials, the terrorists were planning a major attack when security forces moved in. Upon being confronted, the militants opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange in which both were neutralised.

The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Sohail alias Ahmed and Azmatullah alias Hafiz. Sohail was involved in multiple high-profile cases, including the target killings of Constable Mansoor Khan and LHC Hashim Khan, as well as attacks on a private bank van and the Naurang Police Station. Azmatullah was linked to the killings of DSP Gul Muhammad Khan, Lieutenant Arifullah, and other police personnel, and had played a central role in multiple attacks on security forces, including an assault at Abbasah Khattak police post.

Authorities recovered a Kalashnikov rifle with two magazines, a 9mm pistol with two magazines, mobile phones, and two cards of a proscribed organisation from the deceased militants.

Police and CTD officials said the operation was part of an ongoing provincial counter-terrorism campaign under the direction of the Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aimed at eliminating terrorist threats and ensuring public safety.
