Two personnel of the Pakistan Coast Guards were martyred in a sudden and deadly assault carried out by elements of Fitna-al-Hindustan on a temporary check post in the Sondhi area, near the Pakistan-Iran border, security officials confirmed.
According to police sources, the armed assailants affiliated with Fitna-al-Hindustan launched a surprise attack on the coastal check post, deliberately targeting the personnel on duty. As a result, two soldiers identified as Anser and Iftikhar Shah embraced martyrdom.
In the immediate aftermath of the attack, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched an extensive search operation. Forensic teams collected crucial evidence from the site, while the attackers managed to flee the scene. A manhunt is currently underway, and a comprehensive investigation has been initiated to uncover the motives and operational networks behind the incident.
The Sondhi region, located along the sensitive Pakistan-Iran border, has previously posed numerous security challenges. The latest attack has once again brought national attention to the region’s vulnerability and raised urgent questions regarding the sufficiency of current border security measures.
The bodies of the martyred personnel were shifted to a local medical facility for legal formalities and will be sent to their native towns with full honours.
Authorities have vowed to bring the perpetrators of this cross-border provocation to justice, affirming that the blood of the nation’s guardians will not go in vain.
