Turkiye has expressed unwavering solidarity with Pakistan in the wake of India’s unprovoked aggression and violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty, the Foreign Office said.
During a meeting in Islamabad with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, the Turkish Ambassador condemned the recent Indian attack as a “grave breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty” and conveyed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent civilian lives.
The Turkish envoy reaffirmed that Turkiye stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan at every forum and level. The two sides held an in-depth discussion on strengthening bilateral cooperation, regional security, and maintaining peace and stability.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both nations agreed to continue close coordination on all regional concerns and to work together in the future with mutual understanding and alignment on strategic issues.
The expression of support from Turkiye comes in the aftermath of a brazen Indian airstrike on civilian areas in Pakistan late last night. The unprovoked assault resulted in the martyrdom of innocent civilians. In a swift and decisive response, the Pakistan Air Force downed three Rafale jets, two other combat aircraft, and a drone belonging to the Indian Air Force. Additionally, Pakistani forces destroyed multiple Indian military posts and a brigade headquarters. Following the retaliatory strikes, Indian troops reportedly raised white flags along the Line of Control, indicating surrender.
The government of Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to defending the country’s territorial integrity and thanked Turkiye for its principled and timely support.
