TTP Launches Propaganda Campaign Amid Rising Pressure on Afghan Govt

Pakistan has said that the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has intensified its propaganda efforts after Islamabad increased pressure on the Afghan interim government to act against militants using its soil.

According to officials, the TTP has begun releasing short, staged videos from far-flung areas of Pakistan, attempting to create a false impression of widespread presence. The purpose, they said, is to divert attention from Afghanistan, where the group’s leadership and fighters continue to find safe havens.

Security experts note that these propaganda tactics clearly reflect the mounting pressure on the group as Pakistan maintains a strong and consistent stance at international forums. “TTP is trying to shift the narrative, but the fact remains that its operational base lies across the border,” an official stated.

Pakistan has reinforced that the border is heavily fenced, monitored with modern surveillance systems, and regularly patrolled, making large-scale infiltration from Afghanistan difficult. The fresh propaganda push, officials argue, is evidence of the militants’ weakening position and an attempt to cover up their reliance on Afghan sanctuaries.

Islamabad has once again called on Kabul to honor its commitments, stressing that durable regional peace depends on decisive action against the TTP and other terrorist groups.
