Security forces have tightened the noose around the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP); declared as “Fitna al-Khawarij” by the state, in a major operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district.
Acting on credible intelligence, forces launched a carefully planned assault on a cave hideout in the dense Shahi Tangi forest. The operation triggered a fierce exchange of fire, resulting in the killing of one terrorist, while several others were injured and managed to flee the area.
Following the gunfight, security forces conducted a thorough clearance of the cave, surrounding areas, and hidden tunnels previously used by the militants. The operation led to the recovery of weapons, explosives, and communication equipment used by the terrorists.
Security operations remain ongoing in Bajaur and nearby areas as forces, with unwavering support of the brave and patriotic tribesmen, continue to root out remaining TTP elements from the region.
