Tribal Elders, Pak Army Hold Strategic Jirga in Miranshah on Security

A high-level jirga of tribal elders, local leadership, and security officials was convened in Miranshah under the supervision of the Pakistan Army to address the security situation in North Waziristan. The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Miranshah welcomed the participants and praised the pivotal role of tribal elders in promoting peace and stability across the region.

The jirga featured in-depth discussions on the security environment in North Waziristan and Bannu, ongoing counterterrorism operations, and local welfare initiatives. The GOC highlighted the involvement of Afghan-based terrorists in recent violent incidents and emphasized the need for a more coordinated and effective response among the military, civil administration, and local communities.

Tribal leaders shared their recommendations for maintaining law and order and reaffirmed their full cooperation with state institutions to ensure lasting peace. The session concluded on a note of national solidarity, with prayers offered for unity, stability, and the continued security of the country.
