Tribal Elders Join Forces with Civil, Security Authorities to Defend Peace and Crush Terrorism in Kurram and Hangu

In a powerful display of unity and resolve, a high-level Grand Jirga was convened at the Tull Scouts Headquarters where senior military commanders, civil administration officials, and tribal elders from Kurram and Hangu pledged to jointly safeguard peace, defeat subversive elements, and strengthen inter-district harmony in the region.

The jirga was presided over by General Officer Commanding (GOC) 9 Division, Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, and attended by the Commissioner Kohat Division, Commandant Tull Scouts, Deputy Commissioners of Kurram and Hangu, and District Police Officers, alongside a large number of tribal elders, religious scholars, and social and political representatives.

Deliberations at the jirga focused on forging a comprehensive and unified strategy to counter destabilizing forces, ensure sustainable peace, and promote a climate of mutual trust among communities. Participants voiced grave concern over the activities of anti-peace elements and reaffirmed their shared commitment to protecting the region’s hard-earned stability.

Tribal elders expressed full confidence in the state and its institutions, vowing unwavering support in all efforts aimed at restoring law and order. “We stand shoulder to shoulder with the state and will not allow any conspiracy to succeed,” the elders declared, sending a strong message to those seeking to undermine national unity.

Addressing the jirga, Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti underscored that the partnership between the people and the state is indispensable for peace. “The unity of the nation and its institutions is the most vital need of the hour. No element will be allowed to sabotage the peace of this land,” he asserted.

In their concluding remarks, participants unanimously called for accelerating development efforts, reinforcing inter-district cooperation, and nurturing a culture of social cohesion. Tribal leaders voiced confidence that these joint efforts would pave the way for enduring peace and inclusive progress across Kurram and Hangu.
