A tragic incident unfolded near Parachinar when Khawarij ambushed a military vehicle, leaving three soldiers martyred. The vehicle was part of a routine duty team heading toward the border area as part of a Chehlum deployment by the 253 Wing.
The route, secured earlier with multiple checkpoints, was meant to ensure safe passage through the sensitive region. However, as the vehicle moved between two of these checkpoints, it came under sudden and heavy fire from unidentified attackers using sophisticated weapons, including rocket launchers.
Nearby troops heard the gunfire but reported no visible movement. By the time help arrived, three soldiers had lost their lives. Shockingly, their personal weapons were also missing, suggesting the attackers had planned the ambush carefully.
A search operation is now underway in the area, and senior officers have reached the site to assess the situation. The Commandant of Thall Sector is also on the way. Investigations are ongoing, and more details are expected soon.
