Top BLF Commander Neutralized in Awaran Operation

Acting on credible intelligence, Pakistan’s security forces carried out a successful, intelligence-led operation in the Kolwa sector of Awaran, resulting in the elimination of a key commander of the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), identified as Badal alias Dildar.

According to security sources, the operation culminated on 12 January, when Badal alias Dildar was killed in an exchange of fire after arriving at a pre-identified location. The operation was executed with precision, preventing potential collateral damage and neutralizing a high-value militant target.

Badal alias Dildar had been affiliated with the BLF’s Lakhru group since 2013 and rose through the ranks to become a commander in 2020. Over the years, he played a central role in planning and executing multiple terrorist activities, including attacks that resulted in the martyrdom of security personnel and injuries to at least 26 others.

Security officials described the elimination as a significant blow to the operational capability of the BLF in the region, noting that Badal alias Dildar was actively involved in coordinating militant actions and facilitating logistics for armed operations.

A follow-up clearance and search operation was conducted in the surrounding area to ensure the absence of any remaining hostile elements and to recover weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment. Authorities confirmed that the area has been secured and intelligence monitoring continues.

Senior officials emphasized that the success of the operation reflects the effective coordination between intelligence agencies and security forces, as well as the state’s unwavering resolve to dismantle terrorist networks threatening peace and stability in Balochistan.

“The neutralization of this key commander underscores our commitment to pursuing terrorists wherever they operate and denying them the space to plan or execute attacks,” a security official stated.

Security forces reaffirmed that intelligence-based operations will continue to protect civilians, safeguard national assets, and maintain law and order across the province.
