Three Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred and one officer injured when terrorists from Fitna al-Khawarij launched an armed assault on a security check-post in the Makin area of South Waziristan.

According to security sources, Khawarij initiated the attack using heavy and automatic weapons. A reinforcement party swiftly responded, during which one officer sustained injuries.

While the attackers briefly halted fire, troops carried out controlled search fire in retaliation. The area is currently under strict surveillance, and a clearance operation is underway to ensure complete elimination of any remaining Khariji presence.

The names of the martyred soldiers are being withheld pending official confirmation and notification of next of kin.

Security officials reiterated their resolve to respond with full force to any hostile activity and assured that sacrifices made by the armed forces in the fight against terrorism will not go in vain.
