A sudden armed assault by unidentified assailants on a police checkpoint near Utla Police Station in Swabi left three police officers injured late last night.
According to a police spokesperson, the injured officers have been identified as Bacha Gul, Khair Ghafoor, and Mir Afzal. They were immediately shifted to Bacha Khan Medical Complex, where they are currently receiving treatment in the surgical emergency ward.
The hospital administration, under the directives of the Medical Director, is providing all necessary medical care free of cost. Doctors and medical staff are actively monitoring the condition of the injured officers.
In response to the incident, Swabi police have launched a comprehensive search operation in the surrounding areas. Multiple teams have been deployed to track down the perpetrators of the attack.
Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the assault, and investigations are ongoing.
