Security forces killed three militants affiliated with the proscribed outfit Fitna Al Khwarij (FAK) during a sabotage attempt on a military post in the Tirah valley of Khyber district.
According to official sources, the militants were attempting to cut the water pipeline of the Bhutan Sharif post, manned by Unit 7 of the Sindh Regiment, when they were spotted by alert personnel. The troops responded with precise fire, neutralising all three assailants on the spot.
Security forces have launched a search operation in the surrounding area to ensure the presence of no additional threats.
