Security forces foiled a major terror bid in Hazar Nau, Malakand as a joint operation led to the killing, injury, or capture of at least eight terrorists of Fitna al-Khawarij, including one suspect who identified himself as a resident of Zhob. The operation followed a series of ambushes carried out by militants on Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Levies, and other law enforcement units earlier in the day.

The engagement began when terrorists opened fire on advancing teams from security forces, prompting an immediate and robust response. Despite heavy resistance and intermittent exchange of fire, forces established a tight cordon around the target area and launched a multi-pronged clearance effort.

By evening, security officials confirmed that three terrorists had been killed, with two bodies recovered and one confirmed dead through visual means. In addition, five others were taken into custody, three of them injured during the crossfire. One of the captured suspects, identified as Allah Dad, reportedly claimed to be a resident of Zhob.

During the encounter, one operative from the Frontier Corps Intelligence Unit sustained injuries. He was immediately evacuated and is said to be in stable condition.

The ongoing clearance operation is being executed in coordination with CTD and Elite Police units, moving in from separate directions to ensure no militant escapes the dragnet. Security sources say the area remains under lock-down while search teams sweep for weapons, hideouts, and possible facilitators.

This successful action highlights the continuing efforts of Pakistani forces to dismantle militant networks and deny them safe havens in sensitive regions.
