Security forces neutralised three Khawarij during a precision operation in the Dongha Taray area of Shalobar, situated in the Tirah Valley of Khyber district, official sources confirmed.
The engagement occurred during an intelligence-driven operation aimed at disrupting the presence of Khawarij in the strategically sensitive mountainous terrain. As the security personnel advanced, they came under fire from the extremists, prompting an immediate and calibrated response. The ensuing exchange resulted in the elimination of three Khawarij.
According to security officials, the body of one of the deceased has been retrieved and shifted to the relevant headquarters for identification and legal formalities. A thorough clearance operation is ongoing to trace the remaining bodies and ensure the area is fully secured.
“Counter terrorism operations will persist until the complete dismantling of the Khawarij network and the restoration of enduring peace in the region,” a senior security official stated, reaffirming the resolve to eradicate all elements posing a threat to national stability.
